Rest in peace…Our prayers are with Dolly Parton and her family…

“It’s never easy to lose a loved one,” Stella continued in a second Facebook post, adding that her brother passed away “in the early hours of the morning.” “My brother David left us this morning,” she posted on Threads. After a while, he was granted angel wings. Rest in peace, amazing soul. “I will always love you.”

According to an internet obituary, David, also known as David W. Parton, “passed away at his home” in White Pine, Tennessee, on Friday, November 15. The cause of death was not revealed.

Dolly, 78, has not yet spoken on her brother’s passing in public.

For additional information, people have contacted Stella and Dolly’s representatives.

When he passed away, David was a superintendent and bridge builder for Simpson Construction. He worked in the Knoxville, Johnson City, and Kingsport sectors of Tennessee, according to the obituary.

“Dr. David McNabney, Smoky Mountain Home Health & Hospice, his Cornerstone caregiver, Aubrie Smith, and caregiver, Robin Schmidt, are especially appreciated by the family,” the message states.

David was the second oldest of 11 Parton siblings, including the deceased Randy, Larry, and Floyd; Willadeene, 84; Coy, 81; Dolly; Robert Jr., 76; Stella; Cassie, 73; Freida, 67; and Rachel, 65.

David lived his entire life out of the spotlight, in contrast to his famous sisters.

He leaves behind his siblings, his wife of 45 years, Kay Parton, two daughters, Donna and Dena, Lucas, who is described as a “nephew/son” in the obituary, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at Leadvale Baptist Church in White Pine on Tuesday, November 19, and family and friends are invited.

David’s passing occurs almost four years after his brother Randy passed away from cancer in 2021 at the age of 67 and six years after his brother Floyd passed away in December 2018 at the age of 61.

In a previous Facebook post about Randy’s passing, Dolly wrote, “My brother Randy has lost his battle with cancer.” Though we know dad is in a better place than we are right now, the family and I are still grieving his passing.

“We believe in God’s protection and the presence of our deceased family members, who have embraced him with joy and open arms, as a religious family.”
