“Spinach Triangles”: Delicious Appetizer Recipe in Bite-Sized Form, Inspired by Vegetarian Cuisine. An excellent appetizer with a full flavor and texture in an easy-to-eat triangular shape.
These triangles are crispy on the outside, with a creamy filling of spinach and cheese on the inside. Here’s what you need:
Ingredients:
- 3 thin phyllo dough sheets per roll (we made 3 rolls)
For the liquid mixture for brushing the sheets:
- 1 egg
- 125 ml milk
- 125 ml vegetable oil
- 1 small teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons water
For the filling:
- Cooked spinach and crumbled cheese
For brushing and sprinkling:
- 1 egg yolk + a teaspoon of milk
- Sesame seeds, poppy seeds, cumin…
First, prepare the liquid mixture. Mix all the listed ingredients in a shallow bowl.
Layer three phyllo dough sheets on top of each other, brushing each with 1-2 tablespoons of the liquid mixture.
Spread the filling over the third brushed sheet and carefully roll it into a log.
Cut it zigzag into triangles and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush the tops with a beaten egg yolk mixed with a teaspoon of milk or oil, then sprinkle with sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or any seed of your choice.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 15 minutes.
