Dane’s body was found at approximately 11:13 a.m. by volunteer diver Juan Heredia from Angels Recovery Dive Team who was guided by a local river expert. The location was previously searched by sheriff’s office divers.

“Our thoughts are with the family, who are facing an unbearable sorrow,” Sheriff Adam Shanks said. “Out of respect for the family’s privacy during this profoundly difficult time, we ask the public and media to respect their need for space and time to grieve,” it continued.

In the first 24 hours of filing the missing report, authorities, along with volunteers and a number of search groups and rescue teams, searched 382 acres and 283 miles. K9s, drones, divers, and watercrafts were also used in the search
