Salt is a cleaning product that can be used to scrub burnt pots and pans, but also to clean the sink or toilet. Salt is also one of nature’s most effective tricks for removing stubborn stains and burn marks from stainless steel and cast iron pots and pans. However, salt should not be used on non-stick pans. Dishwashing liquid has many uses. To effectively degrease pans, boiling water and dishwashing liquid can be very effective. Simply pour water into a saucepan and then add 3 tablespoons of dishwashing liquid. Bring the liquid to the boil and then simmer for 15 minutes. You can also replace the dishwashing liquid with dishwasher tablets. Dishwashing liquid and tablets have enzymes designed to remove tough stains. After boiling the water in the pan, remove it from the heat and let it cool for a while. Then simply scrub with a sponge to remove the residue.
