A high school senior was injured in a crash in Muhlenberg County, Ky., and her family has since set up a GoFundMe.

Sarah Glasgow, a student at Muhlenberg High School, was t-boned on the driver’s side of her car while driving home on Monday, March 23.

The accident happened in Graham, Ky., at Hwy 175 and Hwy 605.

Glasgow, 17, has since underwent heart surgery, abdominal surgery and pelvic surgery.

“They are keeping her in a medically induced coma because of the tear in her aorta,” Glasgow’s sibling wrote on her GoFundMe. “She will have a long recovery, including physical therapy and relearning to walk if she is able to walk again.”

The girl’s family said she has a broken pelvis, broken ribs and a traumatic brain injury following the accident, according to NBC affiliate WFIE.

Sarah is a beautiful and wonderful person who means so much to everyone who knows her,” the family shared on the fundraiser page. “She is smart, kind, and full of promise.”

“This year, she was preparing to graduate and had plans to continue her education to become an equine vet. Right now, instead of celebrating that future, our family is focused on helping Sarah fight through the most difficult time of her life,” they added.

They also noted that the “financial strain” from the hospital bills and other expenses has been “overwhelming.”

“They are continuing to run tests and are finding new things wrong every time. We love our girl; she is so strong and putting up a fight,” Glasgow’s family wrote.
