HONEY BUTTER OLD BAY SHRIMP

Honey Butter Old Bay Shrimp Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges for garnish

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Shrimp:

  • Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  • Season the shrimp lightly with salt, pepper, and half of the Old Bay seasoning. Toss gently to coat evenly.

2. Heat the Skillet:

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers but doesn’t smoke.

3. Cook the Shrimp:

  • Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.

4. Prepare the Honey Butter Sauce:

  • In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium-low. Add butter and let it melt.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the honey and the remaining Old Bay seasoning. Stir well until the sauce is smooth and heated through.

5. Combine Shrimp with Honey Butter Sauce:

  • Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet with the honey butter sauce. Toss gently to coat the shrimp evenly with the sauce.
  • Let the shrimp cook in the sauce for an additional 1-2 minutes to absorb the flavors.

6. Serve:

  • Remove the skillet from heat and transfer the Honey Butter Old Bay Shrimp to a serving plate.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for a burst of citrus flavor.

7. Additional Tips:

  • This dish pairs wonderfully with rice, pasta, or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
  • Adjust the amount of Old Bay seasoning according to your preference for spiciness.
  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice over the shrimp just before serving enhances the flavors.
